The Pallas’s cat, also known as the manul, is a small wild cat from the grasslands and rocky mountains of Central Asia. With its round face, stocky build, and thick, fluffy coat, it looks almost cartoon-like—but those features are perfect for surviving cold, harsh environments. Pallas’s cats are expert hunters of small animals and are most active at dawn and dusk, though they’re rarely seen in the wild because of their secretive nature.
